Chapter 6: EZ Clap: The Return of a Killer

My vision starts to darken.

Before stepping into the battlefield, there’s a brief waiting period.

I wait for the ten seconds to pass, closing my eyes to sharpen my focus.

<Game starting.>

I’m back in the battlefield of Force of Six.

With a low hum, we’re transported somewhere, and a warm breeze brushes against my face.

<Find the bomb and dismantle it.>

A mechanical voice instructs, and when I open my eyes, I’m spawned at position 3, the farthest from my team.

Then comes the one-minute drone search phase.

In that time, we need to locate the enemy team, identify their operators, and find the bomb we’re supposed to defuse.

Each player gets two drones—one to use now for scouting, the other to save for later.

I send my drone into the building.

It can even jump, making it pretty fun to maneuver.

While I’m scouring every corner, a teammate’s drone in front of me gets obliterated by a bullet from nowhere.

burustar: Fck lol, Kapkan’s here.

OperatorMaster: Watch your step.

ILoveMe: Got it.

The owner of the destroyed drone unleashes a string of curses.

Honestly, it’s understandable—getting your drone smashed while you’re having fun with it would piss anyone off.

OperatorMaster: Basement and first floor clear. They’re probably all on the second floor.

ForceSixNoob: Yeah, I heard someone putting on body armor.

ILoveMe: You heard that?

ForceSixNoob: Yup, hiding under the sofa on the second floor, heard it clear lol.

Sound play, or “sapl” for short.

The most critical element in Force of Six, vital for both attackers and defenders.

It’s a basic skill every player needs.

How well you execute sound play determines your rank in this game.

ForceSixNoob: Game’s starting soon, let’s go!

OperatorMaster: Wanna push the basement? Saw Kapkan on the first floor earlier, probably roaming.

ILoveMe: Sounds good, let’s do it.

burustar: Damn, this team’s playing so strategically. I’m feeling good about this round.

Honestly, I don’t fully get what they’re talking about.

Roamer this, roamer that—terms I can’t quite follow.

They’re communicating in their own world, leaving no room for a noob like me to jump in.

Fine, play your game. I’m going solo.

The drone search phase is almost over.

A minute feels long in this game, but controlling the drone was so fun I lost track of time.

It’s honestly a blast.

Finally, I step into the battlefield, gunfire ringing out.

Clutching my L85A2 assault rifle, I sprint toward the wooden mansion.

The familiar weight of the gun, the metallic feel in my hands.

Thinking about what’s coming next gets me hyped.

It feels like I’m back in the game.

As I reach the barricade at full speed—

DarkMarkChan ⌐╦╦═─ ForceSixNoob

DarkMarkChan ⌐╦╦═─ ILoveMe

DarkMarkChan ⌐╦╦═─ OperatorMaster

burustar ︻╦╤─ DarkMarkChan

2 vs 4

In an instant, it’s 2v4.

The sudden turn of events shocks me and my team.

Three of us are down right as the game starts.

The silver lining? One of our teammates took out an enemy.

ForceSixNoob: Lmao wtf, spawn kill??

ILoveMe: Saw the death cam, they were straight-up camping for it.

OperatorMaster: Their aim was dead-on headshots. What’s with that?

The chat reflects my own shock.

They clearly didn’t expect to die right off the bat either, and the chat’s heating up.

Even burustar, the only survivor besides me, seems rattled.

Looks like we got hit by a spawn kill—where enemies pick you off at your spawn point.

It’s a thrill to pull off, but getting hit by one makes you want to chuck your VR headset.

It’s a dirty tactic.

“Spawn kills get you if you don’t see them coming.” It’s a saying for a reason—perfect for catching clueless noobs or casual players in quick matches.

The higher the tier, the harder spawn kills are to pull off.

High-level players already scope out spawn kill spots or avoid giving angles for it.

But DarkMarkChan, that enemy player, boldly went for it and caused a massacre, wiping three of us instantly.

“What the hell?”

It’s a brutal situation.

But I don’t care. I already decided to play solo.

Teammates dying? Not my problem.

The top priority is testing how far my skills can take me.

And that enemy who pulled the spawn kill?

“DarkMarkChan.”

I’ve heard that name before.

Thinking back, it’s the guy from the city hub, streaming in weird clothes.

He said he made a smurf account for content.

Looks like I ran into a pro’s smurf right from the first match.

ForceSixNoob: They’ve got a smurf lol, this sucks.

ILoveMe: Lmao that guy’s a streamer with like 10k viewers. Main account’s Gold to Platinum, gg we can’t win.

OperatorMaster: Platinum? Lmao I’m Bronze.

ForceSixNoob: I’m unranked lol. Potato, patch quick match ffs.

(All) DarkMarkChan: ez

Yup, a smurf.

And apparently, 10,000 people are watching his stream.

This is my chance.

I need to get famous fast to meet Potato Soft’s chairman.

So, I block all the whining team chat and focus on my own game.

Crash!

I smash the barricade with my rifle’s stock and push inside.

I spot a surveillance camera with a blue light and shoot it out.

Crackle.

I memorized all the camera locations from training, so I took it out on instinct.

The blue light means the enemy already knows my position.

The gunshot just made it easier for them.

Right on cue, footsteps echo.

Thud thud.

“Stairs.”

Loud footsteps from the staircase—they’re sprinting.

I take position, aiming at the stairs, setting up an angle where I’m hard to hit.

Finally, the enemy appears.

A Russian flag on their shoulder, face masked—it’s definitely the Kapkan we spotted earlier.

Bang bang!

NoobSlayer420 -︻╦╤─ llllilillil

I nail a perfect headshot.

The bullet’s trajectory is flawless.

“Arghhh!”

Kapkan screams and collapses, blood spraying from their head—a spectacular sight.

Now it’s 2 vs 3.

Kapkan’s body lies sprawled on the stairs.

“Too easy.”

Trying to out-aim me? Come back after some practice.

The acrid gunpowder stings my nose, but I ignore it, dodging Kapkan’s body and sprinting to the opposite staircase.

The enemy’s likely setting up defenses at the stairs where the fight happened.

To catch them off guard, I need to rush the other side and breach the objective.

That side’s probably weakly defended.

A few seconds later, I reach the opposite stairs.

My teammate burustar is reverse-rappelling at the main window, locking down the objective.

‘This makes breaching safer.’

In a firefight, the person reverse-rappelling usually wins—they see the enemy’s whole body, while the enemy only sees their head.

That’s likely why the enemies aren’t sticking around near burustar’s window.

Thanks to that, I breach the objective safely and immediately aim at Frost, who’s still watching the other stairs.

Bang bang!

NoobSlayer420 -︻╦╤─ DeerCute!

“Urk!”

Another headshot.

Like Kapkan, Frost collapses, blood pooling.

Now it’s 2 vs 2.

Ziiing!

As I take down two enemies, my teammate rappels in.

But—

Clank!

“Argh!”

Burustar gets caught in a trap Frost set under the window.

Frost’s traps are obvious but instantly down you if triggered.

Once down, you’re stuck until a teammate revives you.

Burustar looks at me desperately, begging for help, but I ignore it.

The spot he’s in is wide open.

If I go to revive him, the remaining enemies will rain bullets on us.

As much as it sucks, I have to abandon him.

Since I’ve got the defuser, I need to plant it now to pressure the enemies.

Tick-tock-tick-tock.

I spend five seconds planting the defuser.

It starts blaring, doing its job.

“Ugh… ugh…”

Burustar’s groans from the trap start interfering with my sound play.

“So fcking loud.”

Without hesitation, I shoot my downed teammate.

NoobSlayer420 -︻╦╤─ burustar

1 vs 2.

He dies instantly.

For team-killing, a red mark appears next to my name.

My team’s probably cursing me out right now, but I’ve already blocked their chat, so I don’t see it.

“Come on, bring it.”

Time passes, and footsteps approach from two directions.

Probably not the enemies at the objective but roamers who were outside.

Thud thud.

Thud thud.

The footsteps get closer.

From the front and the left.

Then they stop.

They’re likely scouting for my position.

Click.

The sound of a smartphone being pulled out.

Thanks to that, I pinpoint their location.

The sound’s coming from the stairs where Kapkan died.

They must’ve activated their phone to check a camera, not realizing it’d send them to the afterlife.

I grab a grenade from my belt.

Footsteps suddenly pick up—they must’ve noticed I pulled the pin.

Too late.

The grenade leaves my hand, hits the ground, and explodes with a deafening boom.

BOOM!

NoobSlayer420 💣 LuckSucksGame

Shrapnel flies, and an unknown enemy collapses onto Kapkan’s body.

1 vs 1.

One enemy left.

With their team dwindling and the defuser ticking, the last enemy rushes in.

I swap my L85A2, tough for close quarters, for the MAC-11 submachine pistol and charge out.

They didn’t expect me to burst out, and they freeze.

I seize the moment, unloading the rapid-fire MAC-11 straight at their head.

NoobSlayer420 ┗╤一 uzilike

The final enemy collapses, blood spraying.

White text appears in my vision.

Attackers Win

(Enemies successfully eliminated.)

A victory tune plays.

My tense body slumps to the ground.

The scoreboard pops up.

Winning Team:

1. NoobSlayer420 4 / 0 / 0

2. burustar 1 / 0 / 1

3. OperatorMaster 0 / 0 / 1

4. ForceSixNoob 0 / 0 / 1

5. ILoveMe 0 / 0 / 1

Losing Team:

1. DarkMarkChan 3 / 1 / 1

2. DeerCute! 0 / 1 / 1

3. llllilillil 0 / 0 / 1

4. LuckSucksGame 0 / 0 / 1

5. uzilike 0 / 0 / 1

My name sits at the top of medan

My name sits at the top of the winning team with an overwhelming kill count.

“Still got it.”

I realize my skills, honed through training and real combat, haven’t rusted, and I’m damn satisfied.

“Guess I’ll unblock them now.”

Curious about my team’s reaction after their constant whining, I unblock the team chat.

ILoveMe: You a pro? Smurf account? Or a trainee?

ForceSixNoob: Nah, not a trainee, not a super account either. But damn, you’re insane… friend request?

OperatorMaster: Lmao a noob nailing headshots like that? Not a hacker??

ForceSixNoob: Not a hack. Brainless hackers just rush the objective, but this guy killed and immediately flanked the other side. Pure experience, I’m sure of it.

burustar: How do you know?

ForceSixNoob: Seen it a lot on NewTube.

ILoveMe: Show-off.

(All) llllilillil: Fck lol, no ping difference, we saw each other at the same time, but I got headshot instantly. You’re a noob level but why so good?

(All) burustar: The headshots were crazy lol, you guys should’ve seen it in spectator mode.

(All) DeerCute!: Killing your own teammate was hilarious lol. Was it ‘cause they messed up your sound play?

Oh right, I team-killed earlier because they were too loud.

Even if I carried the game, bad manners need an apology.

NoobSlayer420: Sorry to burustar for the team kill.

burustar: ?? Nah, thank YOU for the carry lol. Please accept my friend request.

ForceSixNoob: Me too, friend request… sorry for flaming earlier.

(All) uzilike: Can I send a friend request?

“Insane…”

A flood of friend requests pours in.

Overwhelmed, I decide to log out.

But first, one thing to do.

(All) NoobSlayer420: ez

Payback for the “ez” they threw at us earlier.

Petty behavior deserves petty behavior.

Who’s throwing shade now?
